Manila: National Museum of the Philippines

After spending NYE in Boracay, I went back to Manila, while Alexis and Bruno went to Isla de Gigantes in Iloilo. After a week, they went back to Manila to meet up with some of their Spanish friends and then go to Donsol, Sorsogon to try to see some whale sharks. Bruno on the other hand, decided to stay in Manila since he already saw some whale sharks in Koh Tao, Thailand prior to coming here in the Philippines.

I suggested that we can go to the National Museum in Manila.I must admit that although I was born and raised in Manila, I haven’t been to the National Museum, ever!

The National Museum for the past years has undergone vast improvements. In fact, there is still an ongoing renovation of the old Finance Building which now houses the Museum of the Filipino people.

Bruno, being an artist himself, was pleasantly surprised of the art collection we have here. He was amazed that we have an eclectic culture which is different from the other Southeast Asian countries that he has been to.

Here are some photos:

Oh, BTW, entrance to the National Museum is now free whole year round.
